dvr-ms to dvd iso

Hey Guys,

What I basicly want to have, is a script which alllows me to run at night as post processing in gb-pvr, which converts my dvr-ms files into dvd iso's.

Is there anyone with such a script?

If you have the Cyberlink mux installed, you can configure GB-PVR to automatically convert .dvr-ms recordings to .mpg recordings, which probably gets you half way to what you want.

There is a also a PostConversion.bat file that can be used to run extra commands at the end of this conversion, where you could probably run the other half...but I dont know what commands they'd be exactly.

Are you looking to create standard DVD disks, playable in standalone DVD players? If so then, then you have a formidable task. Mpeg files must be "Authored" to create a standard DVD format. Most Authoring programs require a significant amout of user interaction.

You might check some of the forums and user groups for DVDAuthor to see if anyone has a way to automate the generation of the commands that it uses.

Well I don't need the menu structure etc, but indeed it has to be playable on a standalone dvd playr.

I think it is possible with dvdauthor, and make the iso with mkiso, but yet I first have to discover how to write te batch file, so that he is taking the right files. :-)

Well I have got some simpel command line utilities, just testen now. Than I can recode them by batch file ;-)

EDIT: never mind seems to be my xbmc version or something, in media player on the laptop the aspect ratio's seem to be the same

I got it working quite good. But I have one question, when I convert dvr-ms to mpeg using the conversion within gbpvr as you mentioned, the aspect ratio seems to change from 4:3 to 16:9, is this hardcoded or does he try to adapt to the aspect ratio of the original file?

I cant think why that would be happening for you. I just checked here by converting a short 16:9 .dvr-ms file to a .mpg file, and it seems to have retained its 16:9.

Are you sure the problem is not happen somewhere later in this process you've created?

Hey sub,

think it's beacuse of the xbmc, The process is keeping everything fine now, at least when playing at my pc. Have to check in a standalone dvd player, but should work fine as well.

I am just finalizing my batch file, but I wondered wether there was some value for the directory where the recording is located. Like the Sourcefile value from the config.xml.

So when I am running my batch file as conversion, I set the first variable as {SOURCEFILE}, is there a directoru variable aswell?
