to make your & everybodies work/search easier, i'd suggest you add the following comment to the "posting support question" sticky:

Report back if it's solved
There are some support request where it's not clear if the problem is solved or still open. Everybody who is using the search for specific problems they have would want to know what to do and what solved the issues. A short post like "changed that, now problems are solved" is great. If you have done nothing (like only rebooted, restarted service) but the issues have stopped, that's helpfull info too if it solved your issues.

I haven't done this in the past and I realize that you make a good point so I will do so in the future. One of my problems occurs when the suggested solution doesn't work because I didn't fully understand the suggestion or how to implement it. Sometimes, I realize that this particular feature won't work for me any time soon because I don't know enough and decide to abandon that option, etc. I appreciate the fact that someone tried to help me but it is difficult to find a good way to say "too hard for me to do" without sounding ungrateful.

1. i haven't done that in past either (at least not allways )
2. don't hesitate to say you didn't understand a suggestion. if it's possible to solve issues from french posters, it's also possible to explain details you need to know to get it working
3. don't underestimate yourself
4. "too hard for me to do" ain't ungrateful either

LOL no offense meant. on the contrary, france is among the countries i enjoyed most on vacation, been 2 times in paris (not hilton)

Is it possible to add "solved" to the thread subject (only by the poster who started the thread) ?
I know it's not possible right now, maybe it's something that can't be done because of the limitations of vBulletin.

To be honest, I dont think this is going to done consistently enough to bother. I'd rather not do this.

Over on the PCLinuxOS forum you get a friendly reminder 7 or 10 times to add solved to the title of your thread.

you get used to doing it after a while.
