I got it all working with ubuRadio, it was sooo easy to get it up and running. But unfortunately I can't stop listening to the radio station.

I'm starting listening by using the remote to browse through the channels in ubuRadio and then I click on the "PLAY" button on the screen. The screen then goes white with the vlc logo centered in the middle and the radio station starts playing.

I can't find a way to get out of this mode without using the keyboard and alt-f4. Is that how it's working or is there a way to get back to GB-PVR from that VLC screen?

Hope it's a good station. Big Grin

Have you tried just hitting the Back button on your remote? When a stream is playing in Preview mode, using the Back button (or Esc key on the keyboard) or the Menu button (Home key) should stop the stream, close the internal player and take you back to the UbuRadio screen.

If you have the VLC player set to use visualizations, you have to hit the Back button twice . You only need to press it once in the RealPlayer and WMP players (or VLC without visualizations).

Alternatively, you can press the Stop button on your remote to stop the stream and then press the Back or Home button to return to the UbuRadio menu.

When using the internal players (Preview mode), you can stop and restart the stream with the Stop and Play buttons (Ctrl-S, Ctrl-P on the keyboard). The Pause button (Ctrl-Q) works on some streams. The Mute button (M) works but I'm still working on the Volume Up/Down buttons.

Generally, Timeshift mode is slightly more intuitive to use since it is using the GB-PVR audio player (and user interface). It just takes a little longer for the stream to start playing.

Btw - (not really related but since you mentioned "using the keyboard and alt-f4") I find it's useful to have the GRNPOWER button on my remote set to Alt-F4. For one thing, if Windows pops up some unexpected message and you lose GB-PVR focus, you can close the message window with your remote.

Glad you found plugin setup easy. Hopefully, if you can stop stations as well as start them, you'll get to enjoy using it too.

Nope, that doesn't work. I can assure you that I have tried them all, STOP, pause, BACK, MENU etc etc. It's feels like GBPVR looses focus and with that also the ability to retrieve and react on IR-signals.

I'm using an USB-UIRT device which I have learnt GBPVR to react on.

Excellent idea on mapping alt-f4 to a button a the remote control, thanks!

Btw, (to keep being off-topic :o ) before this plugin I didn't have VLC installed, but that was no problem installing it for this reason. Unfortunately now my computer completely freezes after I have seen a movie. (Uninstalling VLC solved that problem) Do you know of a way to install VLC so that your plugin works but without interferring with the rest of the system?

Well, assuming your remote just sends keystrokes, it should work the same as a Hauppauge remote. The internal embedded players are just responding to key press events. GB-PVR does lose focus but the player "overlay" should be responding to your keystrokes and, when it closes, GB-PVR will regain the focus.

What happens if you try using the keyboard? Does the Esc key take you back to the menu? Also, does this happen with all the internal players (WMP and RealPlayer as well as with VLC)?

That's wierd. VLC is pretty self-contained so I can't imagine how it could affect playing movies with the GB-PVR video player. I have VLC installed on several machines along with GB-PVR and have never experienced any conflicts. Have you taken a look at the gbpvr.exe.log to see if there are any clues? Also (a hassle I know) have you tried taking UbuRadio out of the picture. (ie. just have VLC and GB-PVR working) and see if that makes any difference?
