SO I updated from... something else, I can't remember because I had the problem not being able to delete faild recording.

Now however I have a few problem and I'm hoping Sub won't tell me my card is bad and unsupported.

I get tons of failed recrodings, usually it was for good reasons, now it seems like its just fails for no reason, I was at home the computer was completely free and it failed. This is saddness, GBPVR recording is my rock!

Second I"m getting tons of freezes while watching live TV and say the show changes so the buffer releases and starts a new file. This does not happen on channel changes. Also freezes while skipping in a file, sometimes caused by resume.

Now I've heard something about faulty decoders in the PVR-350s and I don't know much about the issue, the only reason why I don't think its my card is because it used to be rock stable until the newer and latest release of GBPVR, infact I used to have tons (and probably still do ) better stability out of GB than the included software and we all know the included software is a joke compared to GBPVR.

So... help anyone?

Are you using the tv out on the PVR350? If so, the I'm going have to tell you to switch back to software decoding to see if the problem goes away.

I'll try that but if that makes gbpvr only dispaly on my Monitor then it will defeat most of its use for me because I use it while doing other things and my tvout of my video card isn't currently connected to the TV.

This only happed with newer versions of GBPVR and not the older ones.

Also I think this is a bug but the reason some shows weren't recording seems to be because they were golden (usually happens when I have a conflict) and not red. I'll have to check if perhaps I have no dups selected and the shows were dups of something I had recorded and discarded.

I'll give it a try tonight or sometime this weekend hopefully, I was hoping I could use my secondary output option for a second monitor by the bed but I may have to use it for the tv out instead.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry, but if its is related to the PVR35- tv out then I can only tell you what I've been telling people for the last two years - I no longer support the PVR350's TV out. I dont develop new features for it, and I dont test releases with it. I appologize if some other change has inadvertently caused problems with the PVR350 tv out, but its only been good luck if its worked for this long for you.

Hello,
I am using PVR-350, TVout, XP and an old version of GBPVR (93....) but consindering upgrading to the latest (99.5)....

As I noticed PVR-350 TVout is not supported any more....

Sub, is there any alternative solution for TVout?...
I mean can I keep PVR350 for recording and FM radio and use some other H/W to use TV-out?...if yes what are the options?....(first thing to consinder is quality..)

Thanks in advanced...

Any graphics card with good tv-out will do fine to output to your tv.
I'm not always right

Just for clearity: This doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work anymore, it only means that sub won't give support on it when you have problems.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

As they said, a normal video card with TV out is the best solution. This is what virtually everybody here does.

Its worth noting that the tv out isnt supported in v0.99.5 in exactly the same way it wasnt supported in v0.93.10. I stopped supporting the PVR350 tv out nearly a year earlier than v0.93.10, in v0.23.11.

What I'm saying is you can try the tv out with the new release, and might still work for you the same as the older version you're currently running.

Hello again,...
Thanks for the tips...
Anyway,...I tried to upgrade this weekend to 99.5

so removed .NET v1,
installed .NET v2, directX v9.0c
and upgraded to GBPVR v99.5
I must inform you that TVout worked O.K.
Of course I do not use any special or tricky feature....

...so "sub"....you said : "might still work for you"

...1)...............were do you think might be the problem?....
...2)..............do you think I should change my configuration to use a graphics card with TV out as soon as possible?
...3)..............can you suggest the best graphics card to buy ?...(you said any, but which?...)

Thanks....

Do you have any graphics card at all attached to the computer? A computer monitor? I'd try with that first (without any tv out at all) and switch to software decoding, and see if the problem goes away. In such case you know it's related to the tv-out on your pvr-350. If you use software decoding, then you should have no problems using a pvr-350 with gbpvr.
