I assume you're using the XRecord plugin. This utility was primarily developed for use with the TVListings plugin.
I believe XRecord looks for images in a folder named art not media/art. If you move the images there do they show up?

No, I am using the TV Guide plugin, no XRecord plugin. I didn't have a folder art, but I created one and copied all media/art to art, it didn't make any difference.
My Plugin's:
TV Guide
Recordings
Search Guide
Live TV
Music Library
Video Library
Photo Library
FM Radio
Net Radio
Exit

Is TVListings a required plugin? If so I will search the manual for it?

The built in TV Guide does not support images, only the TV Listings plugin

is it possible to edit the tv guide skin files to reference the images?
or does the TV Listings plugin do something else that is required to use the images downloaded by imagetool?

The built in TV Guide does not support images.
Only the TV Listings plugin will show images for shows from your epg.

Edit:
Possibly someone with some skinning experience could tell you if there is anyway to get the TV Guide to show them.

Is there anyway to remove the repeat indicator from the show name.
E.g. 'Shopping the Supermarkets ®'
would cause a search for 'Shopping the Supermarkets' for example.

In addition, would it be possible to remove my epg sources prefix on films
e.g. 'Film:A Room with a View' would become 'A Room with a View' ?

I can definitely look into this.
Are there any other prefix's you would like removed besides 'Film:'?

XMLTV Radio Times grabber can prefix either 'Movie:', 'Film:', or 'Premiere' and also has star ratings and '®' flag. (Star ratings are just 'multiply' * symbol i think)

thanks, loads more pictures arrives with ® in the name!!!
I'm not sure Film: is working, am trying to capture the output to a logfile at the moment and will post what it says, but it doesnt appear to be finding many at all (max 3 out of a total of 1400 program names, must be a good 50 with Film: at the front).
