Netflix is starting to offer Internet Delivery of TV/Film shows. I would like to be able to access this from the GB-PVR menu so that I do not have to exit out of GB-PVR. You can read more about this on this page.

I also think that is would be cool if I could somehow log onto my netflix account and update my movie pics. I want to be able to do this all with my Hauppauge grey remote. I don't know if this can be done with the IE plug-in or not.

I guess that this was already suggested on this thread.

My "Watch now" tab just popped up today. I watched "How to draw a Bunny", looked pretty good.

From what I could tell the player was saving the movie to

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\AxPlayer

as a file called pbuffer.wmv. Once I left the player page this file seemed to disappear

The player also prompted a few dialog boxes about contacting a site for subscription validation.

Anyway, looks interesting, I am curious to see if anyone is able to tie this together. Feel free to contact me if anyone needs any help.

I don't have access to this feature yet, but I found this how to that showed me how to get the feature now. Netflix Watch Now: Secret Technique for Cutting In Line, Get Streaming Now

When I get home today I plan to try it out.

How did you like the quality?

Did you have to install the free netflix viewing program as it says? That could make it more difficult to program into gbpvr.

Yea...it's part of the licensing for the movie. I don't think there's a way around it.

So I installed the programm last night on my laptop (my DVR was recording a show). There were several movies to choose from, but the selection was not that great. I finally found a movie that I would be willing to watch (Soyient Green) and after about 15-30 seconds that movie started. I selected "Fullscreen" and while it did get larger it still was not completely fullscreen. Unless I am doing something wrong I don't think that it will be worth watching a movie on my DVR. What I will probably use this for is when I go on travel.

I still think that it would be cool if a plugin could be made though.

I emailed netflix to see why I was getting 16X9 on some movies and whether it was related to bandwidth, they responded:

Quote:I apologize for the confusion. The format of our instant viewing movies are dependent on what the studios distribute to us to use. Some movies will be in full screen while others are in wide screen.

I wasn't talking about widescreen vs. fullscreen. What I meant was that when the movie was playing it did not go out to the side edges of my screen. There was about a half inch border on the left and right of the movie.

Gotcha...

On another note, I saw there is a file at:

Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\AxPlayer\AxPlayer.log

that gives some insight to the internals and connections to netflix
