Hi - Getting close to buying compenents for a new PVR.

Can anyone confirm that the later version 500's (Samsung tuners) work ok with GBPVR? I'm in NZ if that makes any difference to the PVR 500's available

Cheers

There are lots of GB-PVR users with a PVR500s, nearly all without any problems. I cant comment about the specific tuners though - there are so many different ones Hauppauge seem to use.

GB-PVR is developed in NZ, so pretty good NZ/PAL support

Thanks sub. It was just the "may work" in the Capture Cards wiki that had me asking the question.

NZ: Sure have been following GBPVR for a couple of years now - very aware its NZ developed Smile My hats off to you for your grand efforts!

I'm not sure where abouts in the wiki you're talking about, but I'm not aware any issues that would classify it a 'may work'.

There is only two problems that I'm aware of with the PVR500.
1) A timestamp issue that can occur in recordings. Also happens with the PVR150. There are some registry settings that fix this issue.
2) Some recent PVR500 owners in US have had bad reception with one of the two PVR500 tuners. This has not been widespread. I'm guessing Hauppauge will release some driver update to address this.

Sorry for not being specific. I was refering to here:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...Cards#toc3

I actually misread the tect. It actually says "may have more problems", I have very much overstated a problem that is probably not there - sincere apologies!

I use 2 of them (2 different systems) both have worked almost flawlessly with GBPVR.

I have 4 of the 500's spread between 3 systems (one system has 2 and a pvr-250) and they work perfectly well with gbpvr...which I can't say about any other pvr software I've tried.
You can never have enough tuners!

it works perfectly in gbpvr; you may be disappointed with the quality though but Hauppage is switching back to the Phillips which is really a good thing.
