sub, I'm not sure if this is an HDHomeRun issue, a GB-PVR issue or a Vista issue, but when I run a scan with GB-PVR on the HDHomeRun, it seems to be using the cable frequencies (I'm guessing the new DigitalCable tuning space). Channels 1-13 are fine but once the scan hits channel 14, the HDHomeRun logs show that the requested frequency is 123Mhz instead of the expected 473Mhz.

I will try to install another ATSC card to see if it does the same thing but I figured I'd check to see if you had any ideas as to why/where this is happening.

I'm guessing its a vista funny. GB-PVR just asks for "channel 14" and Windows takes care of the rest. GB-PVR isnt aware of what frequency this relates to.

That's what I figured. Thanks.

I'll let you know what happens with the other ATSC card.

Tested a Toshiba USB HDTV Tuner (rebranded AverMedia hybrid... possibly the MCE 180). It also did not scan the channels in Vista. XP worked fine though.

Here are the ini settings if you want to add them:

[AVerMedia USB Digital]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=AVerMedia USB Digital Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=AVerMedia USB Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Soon as I work out the analog side settings, I'll post them in the Hardware section (where they belong).

Interesting. I'm not using Vista yet, so its not something I've tested myself. I'm not sure why vista would behave differently in this respect though.

Cheers - Added.

I'm not sure if you will even have the same problem as the DigitalCable Tuning Space is related the ATSC provider. I assume it's using the DigitalCable tuning space. The frequencies it's requesting are the cable frequencies. I'm almost tempted to go buy an OnAir GT to see what happens... but that's a LOT of foot rubs before I'd be allowed.

I think I can see why this is happening, but I'll need you to test some things for me ok?

With the patch, the requested frequency is 665MHz regardless of channel number.
