I was thinking of an alternative to the TV Guide and was wondering how to pull the info out of the EPG (I use XMLTV). Can anybody point me in the right direction please?
Cheers,
Brian

What exactly are you trying to do? The plugin API provides Classes and Methods for pulling information from the guide. Use of these API's can be found in the Web Admin source code, in the Guide.cs

Thanks - so far I had found IEPGSource just by experimenting with the auto-complete feature in Visual Studio but hadn't got as far as experimenting with it. I see there are a number of other helpers etc. which would be useful.
I remember finding a topic a couple of weeks ago that pointed to a web-page documenting the APIs etc. but I can't find it again. One of these days I'll remember to bookmark things! Cheers, Brian

The GBPVR Wiki has the API documentation:
http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HomePage The ScheduleHelper, Channel, and Programme classes are going to be your three primary ones when dealing with the Episode Guide data.

You can use the helper methods to get all shows between a start time and a end time. That is the best way to do your own tv guide. So it can be used by everyone.

Would it be possible to put the link to the ZIP on the Main Sidebar  of the Wiki perhaps in the development section? It might make it easier for first timers to find it. Cheers, Brian

It might make it easier for first timers to find it. I rearrange the info under the Plugin Developpment and since it all fitted to a single page, I moved everything to GettingStarted. Hopefully this is the page the first timers will go to. (We can of course always reinsert a tool page when needed...) |
