newbie says hello...and some help please!

I just got a 160Gb Seagate SATA drive that was half the ht of my 200Gb IDE. Cooling could be a problem if you cram them too close together. I've been pretty creative in the past with internal brackets on desktop cases. I've heard of half height DVD drives. You could also use the FDD slot for a HDD.

well after your help, some stuff has come up this weekend (mostly over last night) and it now means I'm not going to have the funds to build anything right now, never mind a htpc, so I'm going to have to scrap all my plans.

really sorry to have wasted all your time guys, but I'll be back, probably by the end of summer raring to go! in the meantime, it'e definitely been a learning experience, and as and when I can afford to gbpvr will be top of my list.

gutted to not be doing anything now, and again, sorry to have wasted your time and effort.
