allow duplicates by channel or by show

I record old re-runs of Gunsmoke for my Grandfather. Some of them are two-part episodes. If I have the config set to no allow duplicates, it will only record part one and ignore part two. I get my EPG from zap2it.

It would be really cool to allow record duplicates by channel, or even by show.

Would that be a huge pain in the butt sub?

I would have thought these would have unique codes, unless zap2it have stuffed up. Do you have both shows airing at the moment? If so, can you PM me you zap2it username/password?

I'll have to wait for another two part episode to come along. They aren't all that frequent but it is something that happens every time there is a two part show. It's not new to the current release. When I find one I will PM you my zap2it info.

PM'd you my zap2it info and show information for an up-coming 2 part show.

I tried this here using your zap2it account details, with 'dont record duplicates' enabled, and scheduled a season recording the show you mentioned in your PM, and successfully scheduled both parts.

I also took a look at the data and zap2it have correctly given both parts their own show ID.

If you zip and attach your all your logs, I'll see if I can find any reason in the logs why this episode wasnt scheduld.

That's the weird part of it. It schedules it but then it never records it. I'll send you the logs on the 15th after the show times pass. I'll set it to not record dupes.

I cant think of any reason it should be differnt than any other show. GB-PVR isnt even aware that its the second part of a two part show.

If it has problems on recording day, post the logs and I'll take a look.
