In the current GB-PVR 99.12 do you use ParallelProcessing.bat? The reason I ask is that I only have PostProcessing.bat, but I have it set to process during the show. It has been using comskip and it has been doing other things in the postprocessing.bat, but I was curious if it was using the correct ini file for the channels. So my question is... should I basically copy and paste my postprocessing.bat over so that I know it's doing the right ini for each channel.

I'm a little confused, but here's some answers to questions I think I got.

You can run ComSkip in parallel with recording. You can use a ParrallelProcessing.net if you really want, but I suggest setting GB-PVR to use ComSkip during recording in the Config.

If you do not use a ParallelProcessing.bat, you will be unable to specify specific ComSkip.ini.

Whichever you use: a ParallelProcess.bat or let GB-PVR run comskip during recording, you should not have any reference to ComSkip in the PostProcessing.bat.

Right now I have that toggled in Config of Gb-pvr... I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I want to clarify what Gb-pvr is doing. Does that mean if I want to use a non-generic ini file I need to have a parallelprocess.bat file so that it will point comskip to the right file?

Comskip can have customized ini files. To use them, you must call comskip from either parallelprocessing.bat or postprocessing.bat. Most examples that I have seen make use of the channel number passed to the batch files, but I have seen complicated batch files that parse out the program name or recording type to determine the ini file to use.

O.k. that answers part of my question.

Should I have the switch toggled in Config of Gb-pvr or just have the batch file in the folder?

I've understood that GB-PVR will ignore the switch if one of the two batch files exist, but I would recommend that you switch off comskip if you implement it in the batch file.

If you are planning on having different inis for channels, you need to use a Parallel.bat, and turn of Comskip processing inside GB-PVR off

I'm not trying to be nit picky, but I've been having problems with it running. I've tried to trouble shoot it, but maybe the filename is the problem. Should it be parallel.bat or parallelprocessing.bat?

I short-formed the filename because I thought we already established the filename in earlier posts.

Perhaps there's some confusion because we are short-forming terms and concepts because we assume you've read the wiki...

Have you seen these pages?
