So I have vista basic home and trying to create an image of vista w/o all the junk that came w/ laptop. I'm having trouble using partimage. using systemrescuecd and when i type:
fdisk -l:
there's
/dev/sda1 -toshiba's 1.5 gb hidden partition; ntfs
/dev/sda2 -the c: w/ vista in it; ntfs
/dev/sda3 -the backup partition i create; ntfs
and for external drive:
/dev/sdb1 -160gb; fat32
When I go to select the drive, i highlight /dev/sda2
For the line where u enter the location:
I try /dev/sdb1/vista.bak (arbitrary name) to get it to backup to my external hdd.
However, I get an error saying that it doesn't have permission to write or something like that.
If i just typed vista.bak; then it tries to write to the 1.5 gb hidden partition and gets full (there's 11 gb)
Can anyone show me what to type? thanks.
