It looks like working with the Character sets is much more difficult then I thought. And this comes on the heels of my other post today...

Anyway, I know that when I generate temporary text files, the data is fine, It's using UTF-8. and when I read the data into a string, at that point the text is funny. Using a different set I'm sure, don't know how to switch that...
I can play with the funny looking text and then save it to text file again, and the correct accents are there again.
I guess sub is working the same problem right now. we'll see what happens
