The instructions for this are on the mvpmc wiki.

http://mvpmc.wikispaces.com/Loadconfig

Rather than creating a sticky I'd prefer that all users share their experiences on the troubleshooting part of the wiki, since most problems will be fixing up any problems in home networking.

Make a dir e.g C:\MVPMC, then share as a network-share with the name:
MVPMC
Then make a file in it with the name:
dongle.bin.config
Then in that file enter the following line:
mvpmc --startup emulate --emulate ?

That should do it. You probably have to reboot the mvp.

Rather then the ? I recommend using the real IP if static IP's for the GBPVR server is an option. It is a bit quicker and I lends itself better to WOL ie

mvpmc --startup emulate --emulate 192.168.1.100 &

I add the & at the end, without it the dongle.bin.config script continues to run.

You are also very correct in saying that you need to reload the dongle for this to take effect.

I copied these settings, guess what, even wol worked. I'm thrilled, that'll do good to the waf.Big Grin Now I can cash inWink

edit: ok, I'll wait with cashing in on the waf. Wol works but it won't start in emulation mode then. It's not a big deal, but if there's an easy solution...

Sounds like you need to use one of the WOL timeout options,

Ok I'll try that, it sounds promising. It could very well have to do with the fact that I'm running a wake-up script when my system wakes up. This is to (re)initialise audio for the pvr150, In that script I also restart the recordingservice (just to be sure).
I'll let you know how I get along

I think I've seen this mentioned somewhere, but I can't seem to find it or instructions on the wiki.

Isn't there a way to load different configs for each MVP on your network? I want the MVP in my kids room to automatically start in emulate, but mine to give me the MVPMC screens. Can I do that?

The wiki and the mvpmc read me info will likely focus on doing this via the dhcp/tftp approach which would actually allow different mvp's to run different dongles and configs.

Using the GBPVR/mvpmc share approach you would have to modify the dongle.bin.config script as I mentioned here. http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=2

I'm going to give this a try.

Code:
mvpmc --startup emulate --emulate 192.168.1.10 &
if [ $IP="192.18.1.10" ] ; then
mvpmc options -o svideo
else
mvpmc options -o composite
fi

1. Is this the correct order for the above commands (seperate posts)
2. Can you create the share anyone else other than c:\mvpmc and if so how does the MVPMC know here to look?

Cheers

k.
