I think it must be something other than the delay Frank. I'm back to getting the windows error message and even after bumping the delay up to 10 seconds!

Hmmm - different anyway.

Windows error box on top of your form, which is partly transparent. After around 5 seconds your form becomes non-transparent but blank.

Let's look at something a bit differently.

Have you installed both the VB 6 'Service Pack 6' runtime files AND the companion files as per my wiki page?

Yup, installed both the files below, with no visible errors, your register batch file also ran with no errors.

Going back three posts.....
Sorry "no visible error" was on loading the vb6 and your tools.

New version still has windows error box on your transparent form. The 'stopwithmessagebox' reg key has no effect other than displaying the box first (no widows error until OK is clicked).

If I look very carefully at the screen - there is a flash of what may be a form
the instant I run your program and then the OK box turns up or not depending of that reg key.

Try 22...

Here's what should happen...

If in the registry you have StopWithMsgBox = "Yes" (remember, case sensitive) then you will get one msgbox, only choice is 'OK'. Then a second msgbox, Yes or No.

If you select No, all the forms should load... Then in the main window, click 'fill values' and it should flash and fill the database (hidden) and the combo box.

If that works, try answering 'yes' to the yes/no..

If that works, change the reg setting to No and see what happens then...
