24-hour time display

Hi,

I live in Europe. We use 24-hour time here in the program guide. Therefore, for me it is very confusing and anatural to use the 12-hour time format in GB-PVR.

I would be very happy and grateful if it would be possible to use 24-hour time in GB-PVR.

Whereabouts are you having a problem? I have 24 hours everywhere except in an odd log file. I think it is down to the Windows setting??

Well, yeah, I heard that before, but however, at least in my systems (several), it never had an influence. I live in Canada. The default here is 12h, mm/dd/yyyy and this seems to be the only way GB-PVR will display it. Whatever I do.

From memory .net uses the machine's regional settings, rather than the current users regional settings. Martin123's settings above show you its possible.

Yeah, well, I did them all, the control panel, the registry, etc.

And yes, I know it's possible. However what is his location? what was the default of his regaion in the windows install? He's in Europe, right?

What I think is that somehow, the .NET registers somewhere the defaults per region and not per the system, and you can't override it.

Do we have example of people in N.A that have it in 24h?

Thanks! I got it to work!

But I had to use a (strange) trick: I already used the 24-time on my system. But changing the language from English (USA) to English (UK) did the trick.

So, I guess GB-PVR does not check what time-format is used. Perhaps, it checks the default format for the language used instead. :confused:

goto ctrl panel/regional settings, hit 'customize' on standards and formats next to your language, then on that screen, goto 'time' tab and note the instructions at bottom to use 24hr time format in your language....[H instead of h]

Hmmm - England...UK...part of Europe???. There are many people in the UK that wouldn't agree but that's a horribly political debate.

The 'official' time format for the UK is the 12 hour format and although it's been a while since I installed a copy of Windows, I'm fairly sure that's the default. I personally prefer the 24hr format for anything computing related (as I presume martin123 does) so I always set the time format to HH as shown in the post by pBS above.

as sub said, GB-PVR doesnt specifically check, it just goes through the standard .net calls to do it
