Cheers for the speedy replys and warm welcome everyone!

sorry it is virgin media, not NTL.

I want to use it on just one TV in the lounge, i only have virgin media so my only signal is digital, it would be great to record one channel while i watch the other too! i have donloaded gbpvr so i will have a play with it. Im going to build the pc from scratch so advice on the most compatible parts will be great too! Big Grin

some of the channels on virgin media i think are HD but i dont have a HD tv so i dont mind if i dont record in HD.

im gonna surf the site and gen up on everything now. Big Grin

how much should i be looking at spending to build one?

thank you all for your help so far!

Neil

You will be able to watch what you are recording only, unless you get a another set top box (or the virgin+ box) and tv card. The standard virgin box doesn't allow for HD viewing afaik.
