A couple of good pictures in there. I now know exactly what a CableCard device and module look like. ...much like a DVB card with CI slot and CI module, but without the smartcard slot and smartcard.

Wow, I was hoping cable cards would become available to us mortals. Now the STB looks better every day! It amazes me how something can sound so easy (a card programmed with the channels you are allowed to watch) can turn into such a joke.

anyone see the article on some huge site (that i can't remember right now). They had the ATI guys, dell guys, MS guy, and comcast guy and it took 2 days to get it working.

I'm a TV repairman and I won't touch a repair involving a cablecard problem.
They can't get those things working in TVs half of the time, why did they think they would work on PCs?

I wish I had the working hours of those techs: ~7 hrs in 2 days.Wink
