Hi

I use the VA for viewing my recordings because it displays my recordings the way I want them to. Or rather, it almost does. I have question and perhaps a feature request...

I would like the videos to be sorted on the Subtitle rather than on recording date or Title (I think it is sorting on recorded date right now). Is this something I can change myself (i.e. via changing some setting in a config file och perhaps changing the sorting on a view in the database)?

The reason for this request is that I have a few series I want to keep. The episodes are recorded at different times (i.e. not in the correct order) an I have named them 2003 2 (8) (i.e. {Year} {Episode} ({no of episodes}) ).

Another question: how do I "clean" my VA Database from episodes that has been deleted?

Try pressing the red button (<Ctrl><R>) a couple of times. On the top right of the screen it should say "Sorted A to Z" If you look at the bottom next to the red dot it will tell you what the next press of the red will sort by, not what the current sort order is.

I just had to ask the same thing, I totally missed that...

As for removing from the database, I think as long as the file is in a directory that VA monitors, it will show up. I made the mistake in the past of having the "Archive" and "DVD" folder the same location, and that confused VA and it put some recording under DVDs.

Also, old recordings are kept in the database even when they are deleted as part of duplicate detection. I may create a "prune" utility to delete them completely.

Jeff,
As long as all of my recordings are in the GBPVR database, will VA find all data for them if I ever delete the va's database?
basically, what is the best way to start from scratch?

P.S. Also I added this line to my custom sql script.
UPDATE PROGRAMME
SET sub_title=name WHERE (sub_title='') AND unique_identifier >"F";

This will make the subtitle = the name on all SH and MV (shows and movies) preventing addepisode from doing the " (1).mpg" and getting dupe filenames.

As long as they recordings are in the gbpvr database than the VA plug-in should find them there when it starts from scratch with an no existing VA database.
