Hi. This is a continuation of this thread (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27156), but I thought I should do it in this forum.

I managed to get SearchWiz up and running today. It seems like a really nice plugin, but I had a couple of problems with it. Firstly, when I scheduled a program which conflicted with 2 other shows (I only have 2 tuners) the plugin just didn't schedule it, with no warning to me of what had happened. Also, recently scheduled shows didn't seem to be showing with "bullets" next to them indicating that they were to be recorded.

I'm using version 0.5.1 (When I tried 0.5.2 GBPVR hung when I selected SearchWiz from the menu), and I've attached my logs if that's any use (though looking at their contents I doubt they are!).

Definitely not behaving as designed. It should have opened a dialog indicating that there were scheduling conflicts and the show could not be scheduled.

I only have one tuner, so not sure if I can recreate the problem. If you can clear your logs, recreate the problem then send me results and I'll have a look.

Again, not working as I would expect. Do these scheduled shows appear in the Recordings plug-in in the 'Pending' view?

Again, clear logs, run a search where sheduled programs should appear and send me the logs for review.

Hi again

I've successfully reproduced both problems.

I cleared the logs, ran the program, searched for "JEK", which found the program "Jekyll". The listing on the right hand side did not have a bullet next to it, even though this is set up to record and is in the pending list (No bullet log.zip)

I cleared the logs again, ran GBPVR and went to the TV guide. Found a program which conflicted with two others ("Top Gear"), went into SearchWiz, searched for the program. There was no marking to show it conflicted. I clicked the listing to set up a recording, and OK'd the next screen. There was no warning. A quick check of the TV guide showed that the program had not set up to record (No recording log.zip).

Hope this helps you identify the problem! It may be my setup.

I do not see any activity in the SearchWiz log.

Are you sure you are running the Search Wiz plug in and NOT the Search Guide? Could you maybe take a screen shot so I can see what you are experiencing?

I'm certain! Here are some screenshots. The first shows my pending recordings. Note the two at 21:00, Jekyll and Seven Ages of Rock.

The second screenshot shows SearchWiz when I search for Jekyll. As you can see, it is not marked to be recorded.

The thirsd screenshot shows searchWiz when I search for Top Gear, a show which conflicts with these two other shows. It does not have a marker to say it conflicts, and if I try to set it to record, I get the standard screen to set up the recording, and when I select "Record" I am returned to the search again with no warning about the conflict, and no scheduled show.

Hope that helps you work out what's going on. Seems like an obscure problem!

Strange, I'm not understanding why the SearchWiz.log file only has the plugin creation log entries.

There are not any entries relating to the processing when selecting any shows. Without that detail, I will not be able to troubleshoot this problem.

Perhaps it is being cached. Could you try running a search, then shutting down GBPVR. I'm assuming GBPVR will flush the log cache when shutting down. After GBPVR terminates, check the log file to see if additional data has been recorded in the log file.

There is something very odd going on here, as that's exactly what I did when I generated those logs previously. I run GBPVR in fullscreen exclusive mode, so I can't get at the logs without closing it.

Perhaps I should try a "clean" install of SearchWiz? Which files should I get rid of to ensure it's completely gone from the system?

plugins/SearchWiz.dll
WizUtilities.dll

It also uses a couple of supporting DLLs, but other plugins are dependent on them so I would not remove.
