I'm sorry but I just don't understand how the musiclibrary2 plugin works. I used the config utility to set my music libraries, then scanned all my music. When I then restore the GB-PVR on my PC, it shows all my music within the MusicLibrary2 boxes.

However, if I don't fire up config first, then nothing comes up under the categories except <ALL>. And no matter what I do, I can never see my music when using the Hauppauge MVP on my TV. It always shows <ALL> with no music titles. Since I don't use GB-PVR on my PC, only emulated on my MVP, this does me no good.

Is MusicLibrary2 even supposed to work under the Hauppauge emulation mode?

Let me get this straight you've told gbpvr to start (at least) one mvp server, and when you use gbpvr on the server pc ML2 shows music?

If the answer to both of those question is yes, then yes ML2 should show up and have tracks on the mvp.

Sounds like something funny is going on with your database. Can you make sure your gbpvr logging is set to debug, and maybe even turn on the internal MusicLibrary2 logging (in the Ml2 config screen). Then send me the Musiclibrary2.log and MVP-MusicLibrary2.log.

If you don't start up the config, and then start gbpvr on your server, do tracks show up??

That looks like an mvpmc question, and you really should use the Hauppauge dongle while in learning mode. That being said several people have had success with mvpmc an ML2, your problem definitely doesn't look mvpmc related.

If you are running Vista you might have other issues. For example make sure you run Config as administrator. I ended up with the ML2 database in the Virtual Store folder once, and I think that is an error.

How does the db get in the virtual store folder?

I only make the assumption that the db is in the same location is the gbpvr one. If it's getting moved somewhere else, then I don't know how I am supposed to know about that..

I think Vista puts it there if you don't run Config as an administrator when you create the database. A normal user even with Admin rights can't modify anything in the "Program Files" folder so Vista creates this mirrored directory where users can write. From a security aspect it makes sense but it is annoying even when you get used to it.

Ok, the new version of ML2 (not yet out) has a new way of accessing the db, so if you want you can actually put it somewhere else.....i.e. other than program files.

Yes, I'm using Vista, and yes, the problem was that the Database was not written to the program files directory.

So I nuked the library, then logged on as admin and rebuilt it. Then I had to start the GB-PVR MVP server software as an admin. After that I got the full database within the ML2 plugin.

I'll check in soon to see if you've release a new version of the plugin that gets around this annoyance.

Thanks for helping me out.
