I demo'd a version of GBPVR around Christmas just to see if I liked it. I used the same PVR350 card I have now. When I exited GBPVR it shut off the TV-Out, as I think it should. I loaded it on the computer that is now my GBPVR box full time, but now the TV-Out doesn't shut off when I exit GBPVR. It goes to the color bars and stays that way until WindowsXP is restarted. I have the tvout going to a converter box that puts it on channel 3 of the house cable. Unfortunately other channels don't come in very well when that's on, so leaving it on all the time is not an option. It is also upstairs in the office, so it's not as easy as plugging it in whenever I want to watch something as I control it from the basement sometimes using an ATI Remote Wonder. This is a serious impairment. Can anyone give me a hint, or tell me if this is a known problem? Thanks!

Its not a known problem. This is the first time I've seen it mentioned. There havn't been any new versions since the beginning of december, so you probably demo'd the same version. Have you changed PVR350 drivers or anything similar since then?

It was a completely separate computer. I don't have the demo system around anymore to look at, I wiped the hard drive and put it in this computer to store the recorded programs on. I am using the latest drivers for the card, I just reloaded them 10 minutes ago to make sure, and I just loaded the GBPVR on it last weekend, so it's the latest version of that also. The only thing I can think of is that I may have used the older drivers on the demo computer, although I don't think so, and I may have loaded the Hauppage software also. I still get the color bars when it shuts off with the current versions of the driver and GBPVR though.

Hi,
These color bars are what I get when gbpvr is not running. I assumed that is the way it is designed.

With previous versions of the pvr350 drivers, the card would not be initialised after hibernation. That gave me a black screen on the tv-out. As soon as the card was reinitialised (using devcon, see this thread), the color bars appeared.

Although it has been quite a while since I've used wint2000, I think it worked that way too.

Greetz,

Good to hear that I'm not the only one. I hope sub is kind enough to look into this and come up with a fix for it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do otherwise. I (and the wife does too!Wink love GBPVR, but if it stays like this I'll have to find another PVR software. [Image: sad.gif]

Sub? Pleeeeease??

Sorry I misunderstood the question. I also get the colored bars. Its just what the Hauppuage drivers do when you stop using the PVR350. There isnt anything I can do about this.

Different versions of the drivers may behave differently.
