After looking at the text file format a bit more, I should be able to add (insert into the xml) some of the stuff that doesn’t get imported to the Y database as a post-process.
It’s a little strange that they didn’t include movie star-ratings and episode number fields in their database, but at least they’re available in the raw download.Smile

I was planning on doing that but I would not be doing it until my MCE grabber is finished. This one gives enough info that it wasn't a major priority. The text file also has the advisories populated.

whurlston,

Great app !!!! I just wanted to let you know I run GBPVR on Windows 2000, and Yahoo go 4 TV loads just fine on that, and your app runs great.

Do you plan (or can you even????) add the origianl air date and wheather a program is a rerun to the data???....

Again.......a big THANKS !!!!!!!!!! for all your hard work in solving the EPG problem........

That sounds good, and its certainly not a priority.
I just wasn’t sure if it was something you were planning on tackling and searching for movies by star-rating is kind of nice.
TIA

The original air date is in the xml file that is output if it appears in your Y! database.

For movies it appears as the year the movie was released: <date>1993</date>
For TV shows, it is the UTC date it first aired in the format YYYYMMDD: <date>20050221</date>

GB-PVR by default does not use these values, you will need a plugin. See Jim's sig.

If you want to add it, by all means go ahead. You won't offend me in the least. I just realized the data was there after I started working on the MCE grabber.

Oh no no no no no, I’m perfectly happy with you adding it, and I‘m not in a hurry! Big Grin
TVGuideSupercharger wont work with the output anyway until I update it (I-xmltv), and I was just planning for the future.

I’ve been assuming you wanted to keep this as more of a xmltv compatible epg utility, than a gbpvr customization utility. But if you want I can share the logic (the QB4.5 code wouldn’t do you any good) on how & why I added the new genre and title marker using the OAD field.
I “had” a lot of features in I-xmltv but I’m guessing most people would be happy if they only had the new show title marker “*” and genre, and the (date) {rating} [star-rating] in the movie titles, and the production date in episode descriptions.
Those changes greatly enhance the gbpvr search and scheduling ability, and I like using them a lot more than supporting them.

Well For the peeps with Vista Business (and possibly basic), the wizard for setting up Yahoo does not work, so you cannot configure Yahoo's EPG. One work around is installing it on a XP machine with a tuner installed and when in the wizard, put in your zip code and pick your cable provider.
Once you do that, copy the data from the xp machine from Docs&Settings/all users/application data/Yahoo! to the Vista Machine in location ProgramData/Yahoo!

So thank you to Whurlston and to the testers.

One question though, this might of been addressed already but Yahoo! is getting there listings from zap2it, im wondering since Yahoo was giving this software out for free but really stopped developing it, are they still going to get listings from zap2it...is Yahoo paying for it??? It would be shame all this work for nothing.

My primary goal is for it to work with GB-PVR (and it's plugins). I only used the XMLTV format because GB-PVR already supported it. If there is something you want me to add, just let me know. As long as it can be added without breaking GB-PVR, I'm game. If anything, I can add a i-xmltv switch.
