When I try to play trailers from my MVP, the MVP flashes, and then says 'Searching for Servers'.
I'm using QuickTime Alternative on my server.

I don't have an MVP setup but this thread from plugin users who do might be of use.

Okay... here's what I've got:
I can start to see a bit of the trailer on my MVP, maybe 1 second, but then it crashes. Attaching logs. I'm also attaching my scripts for converting. I have my scheduled task for updating listings call the StartConvert script, which calls updater, and then does the trailers.

I hadn't played around much with the target, but it should probably be targeted to a lower res than DVD. I wrote the original scripts before I had an MVP so the conversion did play ok on my PC. I have a couple MVPs now, so I can look to see if the output is compatible or not.

They all get turned into .mpg files. They work fine in WMP.

tipstir Wrote:Were you using AVI (Divx) or (Xvivd) I found that MP4 (MPEG4) and H.264 will work also on MVP. The script just converted a quicktime .mov to an mpeg using ffmpeg. The target was set to DVD quality but that does create pretty big mpeg files. The files play fine on WMP, they just won't play on the MVP apparently.

Please... really would like this to work.
I know everybody is scrambling to work with 1.00.8. I've zipped up a trailer, both the .mov and my .mpg that I created. Can you check it out for me? http://mark.phillk.net/files/Ratatouille.zip

I will have a look later today with mvpmc, but if it takes more than 8 seconds to get on-the-fly transcoding going, you should expect the problem that you are talking about. Your server also has to keep up a steady stream which isn't possible with a lot of the new HD material going around. Martin
