JohnD Wrote:Do you have to uninstall the previous version of GPVR before installing version 1.0.8?? The reason I ask is that when I installed the new version it came up with an error at the end and asked if I wanted to send an error report to microsoft. I then tried reapairing the install and this seemed to work expcept I was unable to record anything. Also the previous version was still present although when I opened it, it also would not record. A complete disaster! I eventually uninstalled the new version and reinstalled v 09912.
I have found that my Vista installs do not complete unless I uninstall the previous version however, in XP it installs perfectly fine right on top of the older versions.

Thanks Sub. I did install the vcredist_x86.exe before installing 1.0.8 but did not get any sort of confirmation at the end of the vcredist_x86.exe install. Should I have rebooted before continuing with the install of v1.0.8?

What was the error message you got at the end of the install?

I'm not sure of the error message as it was a Windows error and asked me if I wanted to send a report to Microsoft. I just clicked 'don't send'!

I've since had another couple of attempts at installing after first uninstalling everything else and got the new version working on the PC but no sign of any MVP server so cannot get anything on the TV. I've now gone back again to v09912. Incidentally this version still ran even though I had installed the new version.

If you try it again, then post the question and logs in the support forum and I'll look take a look into your problems. There could be lots of reasons for it not working, but without any more detailed info its pretty hard to identify a cause for you.

hi, just upgraded to 1.08, looks really nice. I noticed that when you press alt-enter in PVRX2, the taskbar is still on top. I thought this was bec of Windows but I tried the same with GBPVR.exe and it worked as intended.

I've not seen any other reports of this. Does it do it every time for you?

I tried it again and it worked fine already. might have been a fluke.

BTW, how do you turn off the channel description in TV Guide, I prefer only the icons and not both.

Will still experiment with the new version. I noticed that most of the plugins don't work, I use XRecord and it doesn't work on PVRX2 and on the MVP the icons are misaligned, will post this as well on XRecord thread.

Anyway, thanks for the great job.

Someone posted a replacement skin file earlier in this thread that showed just the channel icon.
