OK, remember me? The stupid question guy?Big Grin I put the downloader for MCE in the ehome directory and then clicked on it. I starts a dos box and then gives a "the program has a problem and must shutdown" error. So, I wrote a batch file to launch it with the list switch and it just flashes a dos box and does not seen to do anything. Use small words and I might figure this out! I know you are working on a gui, but this frustration is the best part of working on projects like this.Rolleyes Keep up the great work!

The application closes on exit so you would either need to run in in a cmd window or put a "PAUSE" command after it in the batch file to see the error. Post the full error.

Code:
Switch to the directory storing EPG data
In this case, we start with MCE data.
(Previously updated by MCE Scheduler)

Headend State: Connecting.
Connection State: Checking connection.
Connection State: Connected.
Connection State: Unknown.
Headend State: Downloading.
Headend State: Complete.

8 providers found.
Guide reset!
New guide options set!
Downloading new listings
Connection State: Checking connection.
Connection State: Connected.
Connection State: Unknown.
Guide Updated!

What would the error might have been?

Also, I have the MCE eSched set to download at 3:05:00 am every night. How do I turn that off? Or set it to manual?

Your output did not contain any errors. Not sure yet on your second question.

In Vista you would set the Windows Media Center Scheduler Service to turn it off from the Admin Tools or like this puritan (I prefer purist) federal public servant does, control it with net start/stop ehsched in the batch file that controls the other tools.

I got it...

Disable automatic download of EPG data.
In MCE, go to Settings\General\Automatic Download Options.

Also, The guide download works great with all MCE services disabled...

Boy did I hit that one on the head.... Good thing I didn't call you 'provincial...'

Hope you don't have anything to do with Taxes and Passports...

Version 1.0.0.1 of the downloader is posted. It fixes a few issues where the new guide would not be configured and downloaded properly after the reset and an issue where events could be fired too early.

mvallevand and pBS, i believe these issues were the cause of the problems for both of you.

Also, I ran some tests on Vista. Both the downloader and exporter work for me with all Media Center services disabled.

Last night I had a problem...

After downloading listings, the mce05epgxmltv.exe errored.

When I reenabled the services and let MCE download the data, then the exporter worked...

It's possible that the downloader or exported failed because all the services were disabled...
