I did some reading in here and on the wiki and im a little confused.

I have Gamezone apparently working. I added Mame to the list under gamezone and it is there as an option. I can choose Mame and see the little Arcade machine in the bottom left but Im not sure how to get roms to work. I downloaded a rom, made a folder for it in my gamezone/mame/roms directors and installed the roms in the folder. I then went into config/plugins/Gamezone/Settings, I then clicked the Mame tab at the top and picked to build rom database.

I closed it out and went back into PVRX2 after restarting it. Opened up Gamezone again, then mame and there is no rom to choose from.

Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks!

Hi,

I think the best thing for you to do is look in the directory

<SYS>\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\Paths\Mame

in there you should have a file wth the name given in the ROM Path section of the gamezone config applet this represents one for every location (directory) that you have setup.

In mine I have two files one called local and one called remote.

if you use notepad to open your file then you should see something like this:

zip;C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\Mame\roms

this tels me I seleceted zip as the extension, and it then has the path name.

look at your setup and if you are still stuck tell me what you see at each point above.

Cheers

Well I made Progress. I can get it to load to an extent but I get the ole Missing file error. It acts like its going to load then the missing file screen pops up so fast I cant quite read it. Ive tried the Pause Break Button but it doesnt work. It appears that im missing 4 files. Ive tried on 2 seperate games.

I noticed there is a thread below on this particular problem and I ran the romverify and it came up with lots of missing files.

I tried 2020Baseball as one of the roms. I left all the files in there Zipped directory and put them in the rom folder. I specified zip|bin as their extensions as the files inside the zip folder have the Bin extension.

Is this correct?

Is there a walkthrough somewhere that explains exactly how to install a Mame Rom? Unless I missed it on the Wiki its not there.

Thanks for your help.

If romverify says you have missing files for the romset there is nothing GameZone can do about it.

no although it will still work, you only need to have zip configured, that is the file that is passed to mame, mame uses its own builtin unzip to extract and run the compressed binary files.

No walkthrough specifically for Mame, I suggest you look in the gbpvr.exe.log dile (or pvrx2.exe.log if thats the UI you are running) in there you will see a line similar to this:

INFO [1] GameZone: Mame launched C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\Mame\Mame.exe "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\Mame\roms\alcon.zip" -skip_gameinfo -switchres -screen_aspect 4:3 -joystick

if you then try running the command from a cmd prompt you should see any errors that occur as this is what GameZone is doing.

Hope this helps

Just a thought, if you are using PVRx2 you should be using version 1.3 of gamezone.
