I know what the issue is. It has nothing to do with the dlls and paths. It's because I'm setting a cursor position on the console output. This doesn't work so well when redirecting to a file. I'll have the issue fixed late tonight or tomorrow. I'll also add some code to add the ehome directory to the path if it isn't.

Thanks man..

I'm gonna have something for MCE users to try right very soon after that...

(Then its a matter of confiming reg keys and paths for Vista users...)

Any version of Vista that ha Media Center has the ehome directory in the path. It really won't matter anyway as the same check code will be in both versions. Both versions use exactly the same code (with the exception of some event handler names that MS changed). The only difference is the version numbers of the dlls they reference.

I get a runtime error 53, file not found error. The first time I tried it, it did ask if I was using Vista then it closed down. Now, it doesn't ask anything, just errors out. Any ideas?
If I run the VistaEPGXlmtv.exe file, it does produce a very large xml file that is useable.

It's possible that I forgot to include something important in the zip. I have uploaded a newer version.

I wonder if I should worry about Vista's security as the GUI will move some files around when it starts for the first time...

It looks like it got past asking you your Country. Did it get a chance to ask you Zip?

Check that these files exist in these paths:

SQLite3VB.dll need to be in the GUI Path and will be copied into the Windows\System32 folder.

Mce05Epg2XmlTv.exe, VistaEpg2XmlTv.exe, Mce05EpgDownloader.exe, VistaEpgDownloader.exe need to be in the GUI path, and the exporters will be copied into the ehome path...

custsat.dll, ehepgdec.dll, sqldb20.dll, sqlqp20.dll, sqlse20.dll need to be in the ehome folder, and will be copied across to the GUI's path

All the files need to be in their source locations to start, and the dest location for the GUI to work. This is supposed to be transparent to the user. If the files aren't copying, (due to security or pathing) let me know...

It appears the files are not copying as I can't find any of the ones you list. Don't know if it matters but I have my OS on 1 partition with my data (and GBPVR) on another.
I can't swear but I do think it asked for my zip....sorry, wish I could remember for sure.
Will any of this EPG file effect Vista MCE's use? I don't use it much but it's a great backup if something goes wrong.

The very newest version is 0.1.6 and includes a First Run Debug to log file paths... Please try that and then post that log...

The GUI doesn't do anything to mess with MCE. It references certain keys.

Also, yes, the different partitions may be causing the problem. You didn't tell me WHAT partitions (drive letters) you have OS and GB-PVR...

What I downloaded looks to be 0.1.5 and I don't see a newer version posted.
I have Vista on the C partition and GBPVR on my F partition.
I'll try a few other things on this end and see what happens and post back.
Thanks for your help.

Just tried 0.1.6 and it did ask if I'm running Vista. Said yes and got the same error as before. I'm beginning to wonder if it's a permissions issue myself.
