Just tried 0.1.6 and it did ask if I'm running Vista. Said yes and got the same error as before. I'm beginning to wonder if it's a permissions issue myself.

Try the file from the wiki page (moving the update page there...)

I have removed the need to have those file support files. the notes say not required for Vista. Love to find out...

No change with the latest version from the wiki. But, at least I can still manually use the VistaEPGXlmt file if needed.
Thanks again for your help. Don't spend too much time on this unless others run into the same problem. Could just be something on my system causing it to stick up.

I wonder if it's a VB6 thing. I don't have Vista and Whurlston promised that there won't be many differences between MCE and Vista....

custsat.dll only exists in MCE 05. It does not exist in Vista.

There we go. Hey and that's a form of OS detection too. The latest version 0.1.8 skips the file copy if the OS is Vista

On the lower config there's a button for 'OS Detection Beta'

Just wondering whether you get true or false for: "Vista (Higher)"

With the latest version, 0.1.9, I immediately get a number of file not found errors (4) as it goes thru it's start. Then, the gui pops up for me to configure. If I configure, first it gave me an error. Then I went to download listings which got to 14% before it errored. I went back to configure and found my provider then tried the listings download again. It didn't go far before Vista asked me if I wanted to close due to an error.
At least I'm closer than I was before.

False on (Higher). There are 5 file not found message boxes that pop up when starting the GUI though.
