Sorry if this has been asked before (I tried the search option of course with little luck). I was wondering a few things regarding launching gb-pvr and the interface in general before I download and try to get it setup:

1) Can I launch straight into the tv portion of gb-pvr and bypass any other extras completely?

2) Can backgrounds be changed in the interface to allow an integration with another frontend? (I'd rather keep on using Meedio as I have been since the myhtpc days)

Thanks guys.

1) I don't believe so.

2) The interface is skinnable so you can change backgrounds, etc.. but I don't think that'll help you interface with another front-end.

I must admit, I find the questions a bit confusing. If Meedio is working for you, why do you want gb-pvr? What is it that gb-pvr has that makes you want to use it for Live TV, and what is it that Meedio has that gb-pvr doesn't? Just curious.

well I am very drawn to a few things about Meedio: The tvseries importer and modules I am using, the movienight module, the large community, etc.

So there isn't a way? I'm certianly open to converting over the gb-pvr totally if it's that versatile but dont have the time for that COMPLETE conversion ATM...thought a tv integration would be a start though. Thanks.

we have a large community... Smile

I don't know what those plugins do but if they're useful enough you could probably convince some developer to make one/both of them.

You might be able to do it with some buffered keystrokes or delayed button presses fed by some of the macro utilities on the web. If there's a built in way, maybe someone else will know.

You should at least be able to install gbpvr and play around with it without messing up your meedio install. It's pretty unintrusive that way, and easy to uninstall.

it does have cmd line options that let you startup in most of the built-in screens, check the wiki for cmd line options..
i think it's like: gbpvr.exe -direct "Live TV"
This will take you straight to the LiveTv screen
and: gbpvr.exe -directonly "Live TV"
This will start the LiveTv screen and return to Windows on Exit Big Grin

not sure how it's working with the new interface yet tho..[pvrx2.exe]

I think the commandline options will be back in the next version. At the moment they don't work, afaik.
