Had the same problem with 1.0.8 in that the MS MCE remote would only function with basic buttons (up, down, left, right, back, enter).

Changing the executable that HIP is looking for didn't work. I ended up simply mapping all the keys again in HIP, but using a new program slot e.g. mine is Program 3 for PVRX2.EXE, and I've left Program 1 for GBPVR.EXE (although I don't think I'll ever go back to it, just love the new interface!).

Thinking it's a bug in HIP maybe. For info, I'm still using the custom remote driver provided with HIP. If anyone wants a copy of my working .hip file, just shout and I'll upload.

This is a totally different approach but it might help someone.

I am using a program called autohotkey to make the # button on my remote perform the F7 aspect ratio function. All the other keys work fine in GBpvr using the regular windows xp pro driver.

I created a text file called mce_remote.ahk.

It contains one line:

#::F7

I opened this file with autohotkey and checked the windows box to always open this type of file with autohotkey. Then I made a shortcut to the mce_remote.ahk file in my startup folder. This permanently remaps this key but since I only use this pc with a remote I don't really care. You can always kill the Autohotkey service if you need the # key for something else.

I autostart GBpvr on this machine so I don't really need the green button to do anything either. I could never get hip to bring this pc out of standby using the remote, so that's why I went back to the Microsoft driver.

Yes. Install the alternate driver. Instead of hunting for it, it's not included with default HIP install.

I had some trouble at the beginning, but now HIP is working exactly as it was before.

I think I'll have to post my config files for you guys to compare.

IMHO, the only way to get it working well, (especially without the standard XP hooks) is to use the Alt MCE driver.

(No difference in setup bewteen MS MCE and Hauppauge MCE remotes)

That's weird, mine does it OK. I think it's set under Preferences...Alternative Input

I'll have to look at that again. I thought it should be something I was missing.

Did you manage to put it IN to standby with the remote?

I ended up switching to the standard remote driver. The only real problems I had were the duplicate presses as HIP was set up to handle these from the old alternative driver setup I had.

I simply deleted the onces that were resulting in duplicates from HIP and I've been able to get everything to work nicely.

I'm not sure what the advantage is in using the alternative one now that I've got things working...
