I've noticed that while I get great results using the MPV in XP, Vista is hit and miss in the last 2 versions. The main problem is watching recorded programs that start and after about 10 seconds, freeze. Most of the times, music plays fine and only occassionally staggers. I know the dongle is not quite ready for Vista prime time but it was working better in previous versions.
What are other Vista users using, dongle wise?

This is why there is a big red warning message shown in the config app MVP section when you're running on Vista. Hauppauge have some networking problems with this that they are looking into. In the mean time I've been suggesting people use mvpmc dongle on Vista.

Like sub says, you just HAVE to use the mvpmc dongle. It is very stable and Martin has spent heaps of time on it and been darned clever to adapt it to Vista's way of working.

In fact, pvxr2 and mvpmc are now an excellent combo under Vista. I hope your experiences will be the same.

Sub,

I've notices with 1.0.16, the popup message box with a single button does not display the button, only the message.

For example:
setPopup(new PopupMessageBox(this, "Sorry, IMDB info not available", "Ok"));

Only shows the message "Sorry IMDB info not available", with no button to click for OK

Where as
setPopup(new PopupMessageBox(this, "Sorry, IMDB info not available", "Ok", "Cancel"));

Shows both buttons.

I upgraded to 1.0.16 and can't find a search TV guide feature. Is it there?
Thanks, Sub.

At the risk of being labeled a complete idiot, can you direct me to where I can get this dongle or do I just need to install the Hauppauge MVP software? I've not done that as I've never used it.

Sub added this to the survivor guide yesterday. I personally like the alpha build better.

Hmmmm is there something wrong here ? because of non responsive buttons, hit the "submit reply" twice, so it's posted twice...... and the "edit" possibility is gone.

Might be because of my youngest daughter hammering away on the keyboard while trying to type reply's. :o
