Thanks for another great update!

Quote:- slight change to the way thumbnails are captured during playback to speed the process up.

Thumbnails? where do they show up? I must have missed something Smile

You can capture them with Ctrl-T during playback. They show in the Recordings screen when your're in the large view mode. I think you'd also see them in the video library when in the icon or filmstrip view modes.

Woa! Smile Somehow I totally missed that, but what a nice feature Smile

sub Wrote:You would have only been able to use Overlay if you were using the old GBPVR.exe interface. That is still able use Overlay in 1.0.16. PVRX2 has always required VMR9, even in 1.0.8. It never even looks at the renderer setting in the config app, and instead always uses VMR9.

You may be getting confused if you've been starting the app from the tray icon. In 1.0.8 I forgot to update the tray icon to start PVRX2.exe, so it continued to run the old GBPVR.exe interface (and you had to start PVRX2.exe from the Start menu). In 1.0.16 this has been fixed and PVRX2.exe is started from the tray icon. If you want to run the old GBPVR.exe under 1.0.16, then you need to start it from the Start menu.

Yes I did understand about the tray icon, I was definitely running PVRX2, I just didn't realize my config playback settings (video render: Overlay) were being ignored. I didn't think VMR9 would run smooth on my machine but obviously (and luckily for me) it seems to run smooth - yeah! Smile

BTW, keep up the excellent work!!!

Hi Sub,

I would like to use some older and less capable computers as clients, mainly for playing back videos previously recorded by the GB media server. These computers probably won't run the newest version of GB effectively, so I'm looking at options.

Can older versions of GB be used as clients with version 1.16 on the server?

Can version 1.16 GB-PVR clients be mixed with X2 on the server?

In general, yes. I dont test mixed versions. You might get away with it with some releases, but often not. It depends whether or not I needed to change anything in the remote interface or not.
