Are you wanting an actual equalizer (where you adjust the frequency gains) or a spectrum analyzer (where it displays the bars that jump up and down)?

Frankly what they responded with is waaaaaaay over my abilities. I am still searching and will let you know if I find anything else on the subject.

You may want to look at one or both of these:
WASAPI
DirectSoundCapture

My thoughts, as this is just an LCD plugin would be a spectrum analyzer. Of course an actual equalizer plug-in for music would be nice, but thats another project, I imagine.

how what the graphic equalizer work you would have no way of controling it
its not a touch screen
and there is no mouse pointer
i guess like in the old winamp you could use the short cut keys on the keyboard
but i just cant see it working

Take a look at http://www.codeproject.com/audio/oscilloscope.asp

It's written in C++. If I have some time to kill, I may try to convert it to C#. You would need to add the LCD API though.

I am just looking to add the spectrum analyzer to the iMONVFD plugin. I will take a look at the link this week. Thanks for all the help.
