I tweaked the TV Guide skin to my liking (see attached ). When I modified the theme with the skin plugin it overwrote my modified skin. Luckily I had backed it up.

Maybe even 'wicked cool" -- I really like that! I want the same for channel # and logo (no name) but haven't figured it out...

Would you be so kind as to post the actual skin.xml file that accomplihed that look?

Thanks, here it is. This version has the box around the channel ID turned off. It can be turned back on by enabling that line.

How can I make changes so they won't be written over?

You could make the file read-only although a better way would be to add it as a custom TV guide:

Make a copy of one of the folders in gbpvr\Plugins\SkinPlugin\Resources\TVGuides\ and then copy your tv guide skin.xml, overwriting the current one.

Your version will now be selectable through the Skin Plugin on the (advanced) editable skin items list (TV Guide style).

Using Roy's bits and some of my own and some from HiVis... I built an ultra-high vis large font version (Wife calls it her "Large Print TV Guide") with 5 rows of channels with tweaked larger cell size and three rows of large print description at the bot-of-screen. This type is the only thing that works on the old TVs that we have - maybe it'll help others.

I'm working my way through and slowly creating docs for CSkin 3 here. Think I will add a tip concerning custom XMLs for tvguides. Take a read and let me know what you think. Feel free to edit if it reads bad or is confusing - thats what wikis are for!
