I'm in the middle of some doing several bug fixes and enhancements to the utilities. The GUI will have to be modified to work with the new versions. There should be a new download in a couple of days.

You only have to install the downloader if you want to force an EPG update for Media Center before exporting it. If Media Center is set up to automatically download them anyway, you don't really need to use the downloader.

I just installed MCE and I didn't set up anything for my tuner cards and the EPG with MCE. I prefered to run GB-PVR then MCE!

You will need to run through the MCE setup at least once to set up the Guide. This app requires that a guide be configured initially in MCE.

When I run Mce05EpgDownloader.exe, it crashs with this error:

Quote:Unhandled Exception: System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Boolean M
icrosoft.Ehome.Epg.Ehepgdat.get_IsAtscConfigured()'.
at MceEpgDownloader.MceEpgDownloader.Main(String[] args)

I am running Windows XP MCE with ServicePack 2. That I know of, I have all the latest updates on my system. If I let MCE download the guide, then Mce05Epg2XmlTv.exe works like a champ. I just can't get the downloader to work. I tried passing just list or my headend. Same result in both cases. This is the first time I've tried using it.

Thanks for the great tool. This will be really useful come September 1st.

If GB-PVR is running on the same machine as MCE, you need to place the command you want to run in the UpdateEPG.bat that is located in your gbpvr directory. If UpdateEPG.bat does not exist, create it. If MCE is running on a separate machine, place the commands in a batch file and run the batch file from a scheduled task and send the output to a network share. A simple UpdateEPG.bat would contain the following two commands:

Code:
\path\to\mcedownloader.exe [headendid]
\path\to\mceepg2xmltv.exe [options]

Set the EPG Source in GB-PVR to "XMLTv" and point it to your output file.

If MCE is downloading guide updates automatically, you don't really need the first line above.

New version on the wiki. GUI setup now contains all the files (I-XMLTv still has to be updated). I'll fix the documentation on the first post later today.
