I just upgraded to 1.0.16 and now I get a crash on the MVP when I try to start VA. The error from the MVP-PVRX2.exe log is below. Any ideas? It worked on 1.0.08

I just changed the mvp server to gbpvr.exe and VA works fine over the MVP. I changed it back to PVRX2.exe and it crashes the second you hit the "video" button on the MVP gui.

Wow -- Dejavu -- I'm having the same crash issue both of these messages indicate. I was just about to post a message regarding the same version (.16) when I read this.

I edied the config.xml and changed:

<MVPServer>PVRX2.exe</MVPServer>
to
<MVPServer>gbpvr.exe</MVPServer>

And it works... Something is hokey in the video archive application that doesn't jive with pvrx2.exe (I guess).

I'm sure these guys will have it fixed up in a jiffy... Smile

I get the same behavior. I have to apologize for not having the logs. It was some kind of SQL exception if I recall correctly.

I finally got some time to install 1.0.16 on my server machine. Try the attached fix.

Hi Jeff,

It works much better. No crashes so far. One minor problem though. It does not start in preview mode on the MVP even though it is selected in config. It does start in preview mode on the PC though. Thanks for your help.

As an update, it does let you flip to preview by pressing the stop button on the remote, but it resets to the list mode when you cycle the MVP on and off.

The way gbpvr starts on the MVP is different that the PC - I think it is starting two instances of my plug-in instead of one and that was what was causing it to crash (I only did the init in one but than the other tried to access things that had not been initialized). I think this may be the same thing leading to the problem you are seeing. The fix I did yesterday was a quick band aid fix to get it working. I'll try to come up with a more elegant fix over time.
