The error you are getting has nothing to do with the GUI.

Unfortunately I don't know why you are getting that error with the downloader, but there is a way that I can fix it. I will have an update possible tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

I got a Windows crash when I tried to do an mceepgdownload (in Vista) because I hadn't completed any EPG download in about week while I was looking at SchedulesDirect. Once I let MCE do an update, MceEpgdownload worked fine.

Bonne chance

I can't get this thing to work right for anything.

New MCE install.
PVR150MCE card
S-video input

I had GBPVR working just fine with XP Pro and Zap2It.

Installed GUI and did config as per wiki page

If I try to run manually I get:

MceEpg2XmlTv (2005 Edition)

Re-running MCE setup now I guess...

It takes me well over a few minutes to get info for 62 channels. I'll bet 900 should take much longer.

I know that it may seem like it's locked up, but it hasn't...

Have you setup MCE and got listings inside MCE? If it is not working, then the GUI and utils haven't a hope...

When I have things going right, there isn't a display of all the channels like you posted. Have you had the GUI get the list of providers? have you selected a headend?

I know it's early for a wishlist but I'd like an option to reset the headend without downloading. Every patch Tuesday, I get burnt when I login with an unnecessary long download that MCE can't even use with my card.

BTW for me the d/l time is 69 channels in 50 seconds, 590 channels in 197 seconds

As Frank said, it's probably not hung. 960 channels is going to take a long time on MCE 05. If you want to see if it is progressing, run it manually with the "showprogress" option. This will show the progress of the channel mapping. The CPU usage is handled in the MCE dlls and I have no control over it. They are background threads and should have a below normal priority which means that if something else needs the CPU, they will give it up.

I'll have an upload late tonight with the fix. I'll post it here in this thread and not in the main download to make sure it works first.

I can do that. It may take me a few days though.

The MCE code is a LOT faster on Vista than it is on 05. My program uses the exact same code for both versions so the speed difference is in the MCE dll code.

I think you've got a month. Don't worry about it if you don't have time, it's just staring at that little lime-green tray icon is an annoying reminder of how much I dislike MCE.

For those of you using MCE 05 and crashing on ATSC detection. Try this file:
http://www.epgtools.com/gb_devs/Grabbers...-10061.zip

Replace the current MceEpgDownloader.exe with the one in the zip.
