While skinning the new 1.0.16 PVRX2 I have noticed a couple of differences on the MVP over the PC, I'm not sure if they are known issues or maybe just not implemented yet??

All these things work fine when viewing on the PC.

1, When scheduling a (conflicting) program in the tv guide the conflicts pop-up doesn't pop-up.

2, When you select “find all” in the tv guide the pop-up does it's thing but you can't select anything from it.

3, I know sub has mentioned this in other posts but I was surprised at how much out it was, with the larger fonts I have set-up in the recording screen when you select “Record Season (all in this daily timeslot, this channel)” it was displaying on two lines so I thought 'wonder if I can get that onto one line by making the pop-up etc. bigger' I achieved this on the PC but when I viewed it on the MVP it showed “Record Season (all in this daily timeslot, this chan” & had cut off “nel) “ This seems to me to be a fairly big difference in the display & probably why I had so much difficulty getting things to look right on both the PC & MVP, while I can live with the difference just wonder why it was so much?

Rather than 'not implemented', I think these come under the 'bug when used on the MVP' category. In general if something works on the PC, then it should also work on the MVP. There is only one implementation that both share.

I've attached a patch that should help with these. I think both related to a problem with switching dynamically from one popup to another when animation was disabled.

If the text is too big for the field you're trying to display it in, then the text is going to wrap.

It does a pretty good job at making things look consistent between the MVP and the PC, but this is not always possible. The ratio between screen width and height is important if you need it to look the same on both, and is the most likely reason you're seeing a difference. ie, if you're running your PC at 720x576, and your MVP at 640x576, then the MVP will take more space to display the same text. You can of course modify your MVP settings in config.xml to also give 720x576, but this will most likely push the picture off the side of the screen due to the MVP's overscan.

You'll need to learn to live with these minor rendering differences.

Sub, I gave the patch a try and I do get a conflict dialog with Quick Rec but not the Record option I don't know if this is by design or not.

Find All worked fine.

I didn't want to say "Bug" because I wasn't sure:p

Thanks will give it a go as soon as I log off & let you know.

Hmm thanks for that advice I will change my PC display to the same as the MVP & see what it looks like before I do any more skin mods.

I did say I could live with it in my messageSad

Sub,

Have you had a chance yet to look at why we get no conflict pop-up for the mvp using normal record even though it works ok on the pc??
