Reboot,

I'm not sure how complex you want to make it but it can be quite simple...I've got mine setup to update through a batch file to run at 2 am using windows scheduler and that's it. Worked fine for a week until my PSU broke. Now you can also use updateEPG.bat and put it there so it's completely integrated. I've but a fail-safe script in between from my old myHTPC days where it'll create a temp EPG.xml file and only copy it over to the the real location if the file size is greater than a minimum amount. This ensures that you don't copy a 0 kb file if your internet connection dies or something like that.

Good luck...hopefully I'll have a new PSU in a few days, I'm having withdrawal symptoms Smile

I messed with scheduler to run a .bat file, so it deletes the cache, runs the scraper, get's the info, then updates the EPG. So far it's working as good as zap2it ever did, with no manual input from me. Another WAF success.
The info I'm getting in TV Guide is slightly less informative, but I'm going to get the plugin going later today to fix that (the one with ratings, etc.).
You can never have enough tuners!

I had problems with accents using newer releases of the script. The accent are saved as UTF8 and GBPVR doesn't seem to like it. I've fixed it by doing a return Encode::decode('utf8', $t) in sub encode. I get a 'prototype mismatch' warning/error when I run it but it works anyways. Don't know enough Perl to figure out how to fix this.

Put this at the top of the xml file, it'll fix the accents problems:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

I like it. It is the only one so far that lets me get all the digital sub channels over the air. Although it is slightly less informative as the current zap2it plugin, it still works.

That's what I have. When I look at the files in hex, the accents are on 2 bytes unless I do a Encode::decode('utf8', $t). I'm using GBPVR .9912

I'm using whurlston's MCE utilities, which create utf-8 xml which gbpvr imports and display just fine.

used to have zap2it (free version) but the data ended today... so i decided to get a substitute.
i tried MSN_XMLTV_scraper first but it didnt have any of the sub-channels so i tried this zap2xml instead.
i had to redo all recordings and at first i had some conflicts but then i just emptied and reloaded the epg and all is fine... well i hope its fine, i see the recordings pending but none is anytime soon Big Grin
anyway great job OP!

EDIT: oh yeah i had to set the time offset to 4 hrs in the XML TV plugin settings for EDT.
