Well, I replaced my aging geforce4 mx400 with a geforce 6600 gt a few day ago, with no difference in performance.

I pretty good with computers, but don't know your software in and out...so I could be way off track with this:
I'm roughly taking in the info on 1.0+ that you went to an all direct3d interface, which should put a lot more of the work on the actual videocard, which could be why I've seen such a drastic increase in smoothness/performance since installing the latest release a couple hours ago. It really is so much better, I feel like I'm using a whole other program....I had simply learned to live with the quirks before now, and usually watched most of my shows over the MVP because the picture quality looked a little better, and it didn't have these little stutters like my main box did.

So far, best release I've run yet.

As far as system specs, I'm running the following:
amd64 3200
512 RAM
geforce 6600 gt
OS drive - 40 GB
Recording Drive - 400 GB
2 pvr150 cards

Sub, I slowly upgrade this box as I get around to it....but where would you aim next on my config to help smooth things out even more:
more RAM, or dual core proc?

the MSI requires a D drive to install, how stupid.
It also is looking for a bogus my document path and wont install properly, tells me there is an invalid character. I have my "my docs" redirected to a network path normally. these are stupid things that shouldn't be limitations to install.

I'm not aware of any reason for it to require a D: drive, and have never had anyone point out this requirement in the past, so I'm sure it must be something funny happening on just your machine.

I only have a single hard drive, no floppies, CD's or DVD's and GBPVR 1.0.16 installed just fine.

xeoph,

Wow, harsh much? OK to report potential issues or bugs, but how about some tact? Something like, "Hey Mr. developer, sir, thanks so much for dedicating your free time to make such an awesome app. I've noticed a few issues, so perhaps you could point me in the right direction and offer some suggestions? Thanks!"

Take a lesson from sub -- waaay polite if you asked me.

Cheers.

xeoph, The issue you are running into is with Microsoft Installer, not GB-PVR. If you installed from D:\ originally, MSI expects the files to always be there should a repair ever have to be done, which it sounds like you need.

Hi Everyone!

I've been away for a while and have just learned of the demise of Zap2It. It sounds as if I need to upgrade GBPVR (I'm running 0.99.12 right now) and go with Schedules Direct.

If you havnt previously been running 1.0.8, then you'll need to install the updated Microsoft runtime from: http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip

Okay, so now that I've downloaded the updated Microsoft runtime, what do I do with it? It's a .zip file; to where should it be extracted?

Thanks,

Johnny

Doesn't really matter where you extract it because their should be only one file in there, an .exe file. Just execute that file and it will install the MS runtime.

Hello.

Just realised Zap2It was gone when I got a lengthy error message about my EPG source not being configured correctly.

I was running 99.12 - I downloaded the MS runtime and latest GBPVR.

I completely removed the old Zap2It EPG source. I've setup an account at SchedulesDirect and added that source.

When I "update EPG", I get the same not configured correctly dialog (with many Zap2It references) and the "updating EPG" dialog says it's requesting listing information from Zap2It.

I don't really care about my scheduled shows, I can reenter these easily. How do I correct this?

Thanks in advance for you help and an amazing creation!!!

P.S. I have installed the new GBPVRBackendCommon.dll
