I've plugged in a new HD LCD TV and the entire color range for the MVP has switched to massively too green. Everything else works and I've tried all available settings and swapping wires etc but no go. Can't see how it could be a tv error if tv tuners and dvd work alright? Annoyingly the tv has no option to alter individual colours...

It depends on the files that you are recording with GBPVR. No media extender other then the MVP give you full control of GBPVR however.

What were your results with the mvpmc dongle that I suggested the first time around?

Not good news I'm afraid. This looks like a known problem. See thread...

There is an interesting suggestion in post 13 though which involves cutting the wire to pin 16 on one of the SCART connectors. Also, post 16 has some interesting 'homebrew' electronics theories if you're feeling in mad professor mode.

Wow! Nice find Its a relief to know what the problem is Wink I'd need an Ixos cable to be able to undo it and cut the 16 wire ... Its a choice between that and an s video conversion cable, although the socket for the latter is around the side of the tv which isn't ideal... Would s video be better than non-rgb scart?

Cheers!!!!

I just use a scart cable from my MVP to an oldish CRT TV so I don't know on this one.

Personally, I'd buy a cheapo scart cable if I was going to be looking at cutting wires. Mine are all £4.99 Vivanco cables I bought from Amazon and I can open them up to get at the wires if I need to. The price has gone up to £6.46 these days - not sure if you can open those ones up though - I bought mine a while ago. Don't believe the hype WRT expensive cables being better.

Brian

yeah the cables I have don't seem to open up - thought of the ixos as I had one of those for component to scart and I know it unscrews really easily. Though I spose if I see a budget one that will open up I can get that.

If you want to use the composite in part of the scart (that's what you get by cutting the pin 16 wire) you can try to get one of these.

Had another hunt through me wires bag and found an old scart where the plug popped open - Useless piece of American junk hardware fix with a snipped wire kludge - DONE.

ps. I hope our American friends take that in the humurous manner it was intended Wink
