OK new problem: I only get the EPG data on one channel. I tried deleting the cache as was written about in the 3rd post in this thread, but that didn't work for me. Any suggestions?

Didn't run into that problem myself. Did you set up your preferences http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/...erences.do move all channels that you want listed to My Favorites.

Let's say you grab for 10 days. If the schedule for day 10 is updated let's say tomorrow or the day after. When day 10 will be the current day (in 10 days) it won't have been updated since it has been cached and won't be re-downloaded. Still with me? How about forcing a re-download of the current day and the day after in order to have the freshest epg possible. Does that make sens?

Yes, it does make sense. It is a good idea.

i tried getting this to work but i get

edit: i'm using the 2nd version if the UpdateEPG you have in your post.

edit 2: i seem to be able to use the command line functions instead of the config file fine. i will try updating my EPG when i get home from work.

you may need to check if you really created the config file in the same directory as the application i.e. if you "dir zap2xml\zap2xmlrc" you should get that file listed. you need to "dir" from the same directory that you're running the UpdateEPG.bat file.

well here is a quote from the web site:

To minimize web traffic zap2xml keeps all downloaded .html files in a cache subdirectory off of the directory from which zap2xml is run. It deletes old .html files in this directory based on last access time. (if last access > days + 2)

so that means every 2 days you get brand new listings. my thought would be to have just "tomorrow" (next 24 hours) force reloaded with each run to make sure you have the newest listings for the next day till you refresh again. i could live with the rest of the data being 7+ days old.

and don't forget to set up your preferences to use 6 hours of guid on the web site. this puts less load on the site and makes the program run faster. i'm not sure if the program assumes you have it already set up to 6 hours (which would mean if you dont set it up then you only get the first 3 hours out of every 6).

Yes, I had set up the preferences already. I just double checked and they are all as they are supposed to be. Maybe I should delete all my channels and let the application re-register them. Would that work?

It deletes old .html files in this directory based on last access time. (if last access > days + 2)

Unless I got everything wrong: 'days + 2' stand for the number of days you want to keep the epg. So each day, it deletes 4 files (1 for each 6 hours) and download 4 new one. If you look at the datetime of the files in the cache directory, there're only 4 files with today's date.

I have the zap2xml running and gbpvr reading the data in, but when I look at the TV Guide, some of the programs are a few hours longer than they should be, and the shows that should be after these extra long shows, aren't there. And this issue seems to happen to all show on all channels that start around a particular time (example: all shows on channels 1-100 that start at 10pm are 2 or more hours long).

I'm wondering if this is an issue with an apostropy not being excoded properly or something. I haven't played with the parameters of zap2xml much, yet.

Anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

I had the same problem. I think the issue may be that you haven;t configured Zap2It to display your schedule in 6 hours time blocks. The default is 3 hours and, if you use the default, I think shows that are 1 hour end up getting treated as 2. I changed my settings, deleted the cahce, and reloaded the EPG and it worked.
