Can one switch from VM7 to VM9 (I'd llike to use PVRX2)?

Is it a driver thing or a hardware thing?

its the way the picture is drawn to the screen
but you have to have hardware that can handle dirctx9

I's both I guess. In the first place your hardware must support DirectX-9. Of course, the driver must make it available, but an up-to-date driver for the hardware will do so.
