"Search Guide" not showing.
I've upgraded, removed, started from scratch, quadruple checked the plugins, and I still can't get search guide to show on the main menu in PVRX2.
It works fine in 1.0.16 regular.
Any ideas?

Just upgraded to 1.0.16 from 0.99.12 (yeah, I am a "slow adopter") and it's working wonderfully.

No problems at all with my MVP and those weird "screen freezes" that I was seeing in the old release are completely gone now.

A belated "Thanks!" to sub. Smile

Yeah, I know it seems obvious to YOU, but believe me, not having realized this when I upgraded from 99.12 to 1.0.16 created a HUGE headache for me. My MVP would not work at all! Just thought since I didn't see it mentioned in either the 1.0.8 installation info or the 1.0.16 installation info, that it might be worth mentioning. Maybe your OS prompted you to add it, but mine sure as heck didn't!

So yeah, make sure PVRX2.exe is added to your allowed programs in your Windows Firewall if you have it enabled or you WILL run into problems with your MVP!

Lessons learned and all that Smile

It was brought up in the 1.0.8 survival guide thread at post nr 5 http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27627
Maybe needs copying to the current (and future?) guides??

Grrr.. I had been trying SO hard to not be one of those people posting with a problem that had been mentioned. I saw that 90% of sub's responses ended up being "Yeah, I mentioned that here <link>" To which they always responded with "Oh gee how'd I miss that?". So I looked and looked and looked and yet still, here I sit... Gee! *sigh* Smile

I woudn't worry too much - I only remembered it myself as I suggested it went there after a few people had simiar firewall problems.

Put it down to the slightly lacking search facility on here, it took me quite a time to find that post and I knew for sure it was there and the thread it was in!.

I'm thinking about going from 0.99.12 to 1.0.16, but I have one main concern. Will the XDVD plug-in work with 1.0.16?

We use the XDVD plug-in all the time to play DVDs either from files on the HDD or from DVD discs.

Thanks.

PS: We watch these on the MVP on the PC.
