EWA Build 66 Beta

Attached is a beta relase of build 66. Please post any comments in this thread.

Changes Include:

• UncleJohnsBand: Update Ajax Pro library to current 7.7.31.1 release.
  
• UncleJohnsBand: Added a date and time range option on the Search page to allow further narrowing of search results.
  
• UncleJohnsBand: Added eWorld.UI component library created by eXcentrics World.
  • Thanks to eXcentrics for providing this component at no cost.

• UncleJohnsBand: Updated Manual Record to use new date and time components.
  
• UncleJohnsBand: Added ability to extend programme end time when scheduling recordings. Previously this was only availble on shows that were already scheduled to record.
  
• UncleJohnsBand: Updated channel drop down on manual record to correctly show channel name and number rather than just the call letters.
  
• UncleJohnsBand: Add Guest User access.
  • Guest User Id and Password are set on the Admin tab.
  • Guest users do not have ability to schedule, cancel or delete recordings.
  • Guest users do not have acess to Admin or Search tabs and they can not directly access them by URL.

I take the opportunity to repeat a wish from some time ago:I would like the program info to be in a frame (I guess) so that when you scroll down, the head of the page with the tabs stays in place. You or someone else made a "beta" for it once but it never made it to the official release, maybe with good reason I don't know/remember.

Try using guide2.aspx instead of guide.aspx. This has been out for a while....this implemenation is a total CSS based implementation and provides what I think you are looking for.

The color scheme is just for contrast....once I get all the pages done then I will begin to create actual theme colors. I am working on the manage recordings page now.

ha ha cool, I didn't know that was there either...pretty (maybe not the colours yet), but the way it works.

Is this where all this ajax stuff you're talking about, is used (sorry for the bad english - I have no excuse it is my first language).

Tried installing tonight following these instructions - now browser tab opens up but sticks at 'Loading' with a white screen...

Any logs I can look at to see what is going wrong.

Default 1.0.16 version was working fine - guide and guide2 - guide2 looks great (apart from colors obviously)

EDIT: oops, just noticed

If you’re getting a white background with no images after you’ve just installed a brand new release, please wait 24 hours then hit refresh. There is an issue with the .net framework if you try and access files in the future)

frames with the new beta looks good - heck of a lot easier to move though the guide - do you think there is any chance of having a horizontal scrollbar for the guide? so that a full day can be shown and scrolled easier - then the < and > can be used to select next day

Yep - that fixed it...

I'm getting the same as skippy_nz. Think I understand why... good workaround is...

when you return to Guide after selecting another tab, just stick a '2' after 'guide' in your address bar and press enter...

Hey UJB, great stuff. This is indeed what I meant, missed it somehow. Nice to know that you are working on the themes.
I really love the way to navigate in this one.
