Just spotted this on videohelp.com:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MPEG_StreamClip

Did only a few tests sofar.
I took a 1 hr mpg file and cut out about 8 segments, then saved it to mpg again. It played fine, showed the right lenghth in wmp and it didn't seem to have sync problems.
Anyone knows this one? The comments on videohelp.com are very positive.
It has some nice possibillities

I've been using Cuttermaran with good success for quite some time now. My only complaint is that you have to demux the file before you edit it. Does this program need a demuxed mpg file to work with?

If Comskip can create the cut-point files this program needs, then I might give it a try.

Is there a version for Windows? I always thought this was a Mac-only tool.

*edit* Gee, there is a Windows version. Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check that out. I've been using Cuttermaran, too, but if I can get the same edits without demuxing, life will get a lot easier! Smile

It can edit mpg files directly without demuxing first.

cool, now they have a mac version..Smile
it uses quicktime to do it's business so isn't surprising..

lightning fast, can fix timelines without mux/demux, can save as avi..Big Grin
too bad no cmd line opts...

Duh! i thought the one you mentioned was a different one..lol

We use it on our macs to transcode those nasty M2T mpeg transport streams (stream is broken up in packets with error correction comming from Sony HDV camcorders recording on harddisk) to a standard mpeg or even quicktime movie.
So for me, great free software !
