carpeVideo, That resolution was not an standard option in the NVidia Control Panel, but you can create custom resolutions with the control panel. I am using the latest NVidia driver (sept 28 release).

Spartan I'm using this exact same motherboard on Windows XP and a AM2 6000 w/2GB PC 800, a Hauppage 1600 qam support for HD Channels on Cable connected to a 60 in DLP 1080P Samsung. I utilize the HDMI out for connection and I liked this board for the S/PDIF Out-1x Optical. I can say the HD is okay and on others it runs W/Hickups, meaning delay of broadcast. I think I'm going to go w/ a Radeon HD 2600XT video card w/264 hardware decoding on the card. All stuff that I record in HD plays super w/no delay w/the existing internal ATI. I have also utilized the last generation 7900 GTS W/512 MB ram and it was a little better but the hardware decoding didn't come out untill the 8600/8800's and the ATI HD 2000 series. I originally mandated a Gig of ram to be dedicated to the internal video, I have since found it ran smoother set to automatic instead of dedicating that whole Gig of ram.

Spartan, I connected the 7050 to my TV via HDMI, switched the default audio device to HDMI out in the control panel and it worked perfectly. No dropouts. As I said, I'm running the latest NVidia drivers so maybe they fixed the issue.

One thing I did notice was a loss in video quality on the HDMI port if I ran in clone mode with the VGA. Switching to single display on either output fixed it.

Sounds great ...I considered Whurlston's advice on the chipset and wanting Firewire and optical out I ordered one yesterday. This gives me both for a few more bucks.

Dang it. Anyone want a Biostar board? Big Grin
That Abit has the same chipset and adds the firewire port.

Yepp, this is the most complete motherboard I have found.
But they should have put the DVI socket on the motherboard since there is room for it. Now the motherboard comes with a cable the has HDMI to DI connector. The rear bracket has extra 4 and 6 pin Firewire connectors and 2 additional USB connectors.

But I really like the chassi, since it is almost noice less with that big CPU fan.
A lot quiter than the Antec Fusion chassis that I also have.

I use the original AMD 64X2 CPU fan, it is also very quite.
I really recommend this chassis and motherboard.
Lots of HTPC for the bucks.

I'd like to get some more opinions. What are you all hearing about the nVidia GeForce 7050 vs the ATi Radeon Xpress 1250?

Seems that I read that the 7050 can't do full 1080p (H.264) or some such thing? I'd like to read about some of your real-world experiences with these IGP platforms...

Um. Let me see if I have an H.264 encoded disc and I'll let you know. What are you reading exactly?
