Check your Add/Remove programs list in Control Panel for the uninstaller.

You do know that zap2it won't work with 99.12, right? Zap2It terminated their service.

you need to install the latest plugins that are known to work with 1.0.16

zapit won't work whatever version you are using. Only with 1.0.16 can you use an alternative.

Not sure if simply uninstalling 16 and reinstalling 99.x will work (the database may have been converted to the new format). Ideally you will have taken a backup of your gbpvr folder before you attempted the upgrade. if you did, uninstall 16, copy the original folder back, then reinstall 99.x

(oh and you're old fashioned! :-)

I probably won't convince you to give it another try but both the weather and cinema plugins have been updated to 1.0.16, and it likely just a matter of time for the other plugins as well. There is a saying at my church that the only thing we can all agree on is that "we like the old hymn book better" and that has been true for the last 200 years! I think its the same thing with the versions of the pvr.

If I read between the lines correctly, you can still effectively use the old version by executing gbpvr.exe until such time as enough improvements are made that you like pvrx2 better. If you are in North America (and I assume you are because the zap2it problem only effects us), then I think you need the newest version, 1.0.16, in order to get schedule direct data (i.e. the zap2it data) and would have to rely on a scraper if you choose to use the older options.

The old interface (including blue skin) is available in 1.0.16. Simply run the GBPVR.exe instead of PVRX2.exe.

Your old plugins will still work if you create a sub-directory under plugins (I use plugins/legacy), and place all the OLD plugins there.

If you have important data that was in your 99.12 that was up-converted to 1.0.16, you won't be able to go back. You would have to remove 1.0.16 and install the old version of 99.12, but then you would have a fresh, empty database...

Kayak4ever's right. 1.0.16 comes with gbpvr.exe which IS 99.12. I believe it will perform exactly the same with all the plugins you liked...

I know that change is difficult sometimes, but it was desperately needed to create a smoother interface and move into the 21st Century. It's going through growing pains, certainly.

Luckily, most people didn't experience the pain that beta-testers had to endure to get it where it is: quite stable, though still missing some features (currently being developed by sub when he gets back from his much needed vacation)

Most of the popular plugins are being patched, upgraded or rewritten to move over. (For Instance, I have made sure my utilities are compatible...)

And yes, it's been said, but Zap2it is dead. An alternative most are going with is Schedules Direct (a pay service - I can hear you groan)

If you do decide to downgrade to 99.12, you would still be able to use Schedules Direct if you follow these instructions:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/I-xmltvForSD

Good luck!

Yep. Mostly cloudy and 66 degrees here, says PVRx2.

The only times I've avoided all reinstall problems with GBPVR is uninstalling it in Add/Remove Programs and then deleting the Devnz (GBPVR) folder. Some of those files may linger on the next install if they aren't manually deleted.

Zap2It is dead? Someone tell the awesome Zap2It free scraper that.

Of course I meant labs.zap2it.com and the builtin EPG feature in GB-PVR...

been a while since i posted this, but heres the latest. I did a complete uninstall, blew out everything, including all folders and files. Reinstalled 99.xx, got it working right, then added the plugins, like weather. when all this was working i did upgrade to 10.0.16. launched gbpvr (not x2 which we dont like).
Everything worked great, well mostly, but good enough. weather plugin works ok now and we have old interface that we like,( Its faster than bubble menu in x2) but running ver. 10.0.16. only thing now, is in channel listings we used to be able to scroll to program and press OK on hauppauge remote and go direct to live tv, it doesnt do that now, it opens another menu to record or what have you. iit would be nice to be able to do that again. Other wise all is well now. ps. using schedules direct for programs, works great. thanks pete
